Starting working life as a Fitter and Turner, Simon has a practical dimension for design. This has enabled Simon to understand the production methods and tolerances for new design projects. Having sailed over 75 thousand sea miles and won all of Australia’s most prestigious races including the Sydney to Hobart, Simon has designed many components for two of Australia's best known ‘maxi’ sailboats. Simon moved into CAD in 1993 and then into Linear and Non Linear FEA and ‘Solidmodelling’ in 2000. Simon has worked in the USA and the UK as a lead designer for world renowned Carbon Spar makers. Optimum performance is Simon’s goal.
